Garik Fabricas comes from a family of painters, sculptors and musicians so art was something that came quite naturally but it was not something taken for granted. He went to Prague and studied at Hellich Secondary School of Graphic Arts where he concentrated on graffiti art. For the next six years Garik lived in Copenhagen where he attended Roskilde University and studied for a Masters degree in the semiotics of communication within the philosophy department. He returned to the Czech Republic and in the last few years has been able to devote more time to his painting practice.
Garik is deeply interested in philosophy, languages, art and communication. The artist's creative attitude is to do everything in his own way, at his own pace and as naturally as possible. Garik has always drawn but it is only recently that he has felt mature and confident enough as an artist to experiment with his painting. He has worked hard to produce a significant body of paintings for his portfolio. He believes that this is just the beginning of his artistic adventures.
